Welcome to FC Bayern South Dallas Chapter
Golazo is non-profit 501 C3 organization, whose sole purpose is to raise funding for economically challenged children in the Southern portions of Dallas, primarily Oak cliff. That money is used to support competitive soccer players participate in the expensive leagues of the North. Golazo is a new organization, just a year old. However, in that time the foundation has been able to support 18 competitive players with dollars towards leagues, tournaments and field rental expenses. Now that a new year is upon us, your help and support is needed more than ever. By donating to us, you are helping a young soccer player perform on the biggest stage in the country. They will be seen by college scouts and can continue their dreams of playing soccer. We accept donations in cash or check and can provide 501 C3 information upon request. Many thanks for your generosity.
What does it cost to play competitive soccer? The typical player/parents will spend up to $5,000 per year to play. This includes coach fees, club fees, practice field rental, tournaments, leagues, uniforms and equipment.
Where do the competitive teams play? Most competitive leagues are expensive and hold their games in North Dallas, Arlington, Plano and Frisco areas of the metroplex. Competitive games are currently not available in the Oak Cliff area.
Who participates in competitive leagues? Generally, because the cost of playing competitive soccer is so costly, only affluent families can afford to participate.
Who receives the majority of college soccer scholarships? Again, children from more affluent families receive more soccer scholarships than those from less affluent families mainly because less affluent children have not the financial means to participate. The bottom line is that many children in the Oak Cliff area are passionate about the beautiful game of soccer. Also, many of these children have the talent and ability to participate on this high level. However, once again because of the expense these children never get the chance.
